Zeus was a semi-wedge box shaped robot that competed in Series 3 of Robot Wars. Painted black and named after the Greek King of the Gods, it featured a scoop driven by a 5 tonne airbag and axe as its weapons, with a spike on either side of the robot to prevent it from being flipped onto its side. It was capable of lifting a Transit van and pushing a Range Rover.
The robot performed poorly in its only televised appearance, losing in Round 1 to future Semi-Finalists Scutter's Revenge, and the team was equally unsuccessful with the robot's successor Cronos in the following series.
Robot History[]
Zeus lost its only battle against fellow newcomers Scutter's Revenge in Round 1 of Series 3, after it had been pushed into the arena wall and almost flipped over by its opponent. Scutter's Revenge pushed Zeus across the arena floor towards the Pit of Oblivion, Zeus tried to use its axe to ease away, but the tip of the axe broke off on a grill, Scutter's Revenge continued its attack and pushed Zeus down into the pit, eliminating Zeus from the competition.
