Utopia is a beetleweight class robot built by Dennis Beck. Utopia is a two-wheel drive robot with a relatively lightweight, but extremely high speed drum spinner. Thanks to its high-powered weapon, excellent driver, and extreme durability, Utopia is one of the most successful beetleweight competitors ever built. To date, it boasts twelve championship titles under its belt across nine years of competition, and a nearly four-to-one ratio of wins to losses.
Utopia's first opponent was Angry Dragan. Utopia won this fight and advanced.
Utopia then fought AMP. Utopia won this fight and advanced.
Utopia's next opponent was Underkill. As both robots were undefeated, Utopia had to defeat Underkill twice to become the beetleweight champion.
Utopia fought Underkill as its first opponent. Utopia won this fight and advanced.
Utopia's next opponent was Angry Dragan. Utopia lost this fight and dropped into the loser's bracket.
Utopia then faced Underkill again. Like last time, Utopia won and advanced.
Now in the finals, Utopia fought Angry Dragan once again. As it had come up from the loser's bracket, Utopia had to beat Angry Dragan twice to remain the beetleweight champion.

Utopia first fought Broadside. Utopia won this fight and advanced.
Utopia's next opponent was Underkill. Utopia won this fight and advanced to the finals.
In the finals, Utopia met Broadside again. As the fight began Broadside rushed Utopia, catching it and ramming it into the wall, turning Utopia over. Utopia then began to gyrodance in an effort to self-right. Broadside attacked again, bumping Utopia back right side up. The two robots began a game of maneuvering, darting around, neither wanting to put themselves at risk of attack. Eventually Broadside caught Utopia and took it into the wall again. Utopia's wedge still wasn't able to get under Broadside as it was taken across the arena into the opposite wall. The battle of maneuvering resumed, but Broadside made a critical driving error, exposing its rear to Utopia, who slipped underneath and threw Broadside onto its wedge, where its wheels didn't touch the ground. After backing off for a bit, Utopia came in and began to grind away at the top of Broadside as Broadside was counted out, making Utopia the beetleweight champion once again.
Utopia's first opponent was ADOS. Utopia won this fight and advanced.
Utopia then fought Underkill. As the fight began both robots approached each other tentatively with weapons spun up. Utopia's first hit stopped Underkill's blade, and Underkill backed away to get it spun up again. This gave Utopia the chance to circle around and attack the rear of Underkill as Underkill lumbered away. The two robots exchanged blows, with Underkill proving the less maneuverable of the two machines and taking several hits to its rear. One of these hits knocked one of Utopia's weapon supports off, but the very next blow smashed off Underkill's weapon entirely, leaving it as nothing but a pusher. Still, Utopia's weapon was not in much better shape, causing intense vibration and striking the ground constantly. Underkill backed away and tried to formulate a strategy as Utopia struggled to get its weapon running smoothly. With its weapon proving ineffective, Utopia began to shove Underkill around, eventually using its weapon to flip itself over onto its back. By this point however, Underkill was completely immobile, and was counted out, giving the win to Utopia.
In the finals, Utopia fought Broadside. Utopia won this fight, becoming the beetleweight champion.

Kilobots Lite 2015Edit
Utopia's first opponent was a doozy: Ontario beater-bar spinner InsaniTi, which was coming off a strong fourth place finish at Motorama 2017. As the fight began both robots revved their weapons up to full speed and charged, with InsaniTi slipping around the side of Utopia, but was unable to attack before Utopia pivoted and went head on. This first hit merely knocked the two robots gently away, but Utopia followed up its attack and perched InsaniTi on top of itself, throwing titanium sparks as its drum began to grind away at InsaniTi, eventually popping it up. Utopia followed up, throwing InsaniTi into the wall and flipping it upside down. Utopia continued to maintain control of InsaniTi, which was unable to evade or reposition to attack Utopia effectively. Foam shavings were flung everywhere from InsaniTi's wheels, but eventually it slipped away and gyro-danced back to right-side up and smashed Utopia's left bulkhead, knocking it away. After another hit Utopia was thrown onto its back, finally turning the initiative to InsaniTi, who smashed Utopia into the ceiling. However, this hit had not killed Utopia, but it had disabled InsaniTi's weapon, and Utopia, still upside-down, throttled back and pursued the fleeing InsaniTi. After lopping off one of InsaniTi's wheels, InsaniTi tapped out, giving the win to Utopia.
Utopia's next opponent was pneumatic flipper LaunchPad. Utopia won this fight and advanced.
Utopia then fought veteran wedge Broadside. Utopia won this fight and advanced.
Utopia's next opponent was four-wheeled wedge Killer Turtle. As the fight began, both bots charged towards the center with Killer Turtle swerving to the right, Utopia then quickly maneuvered to catch it, its center wedgelet slipping under Killer Turtle's wedge, allowing Utopia's drum to send Killer Turtle flipping through the air. As Killer Turtle landed, Utopia hit it again, once again sending it flying. A third pop flung Killer Turtle away. Utopia waited as Killer Turtle backed away, trying to find a better angle to attack Killer Turtle. The two circled around before Utopia got another huge flip on Killer Turtle in the red corner. Killer Turtle backed away and tried to circle around Utopia, but Utopia was able to outmaneuver Killer Turtle and strike it again. After yet another strike, Killer Turtle was flipped onto its back, leaving its hinged wedge flopping as two bolts had come loose from its mount. Killer Turtle was now maneuvering much slower thanks to its dragging wedge, and Utopia pursued, taking it into the wall and flipping it again with its drum. Utopia continued to strike at Killer Turtle, who began to suffer drive issues after Utopia struck the robot's rear. After being flipped onto its back one more time, Killer Turtle tapped out, giving the win to Utopia.
Utopia then faced off against Scary Thing. Utopia won this fight and advanced to the finals.
In the finals, Utopia was faced with Killer Turtle once again. As the fight began both bots circled in the arena center, before Utopia struck at Killer Turtle, throwing it up in a flip through the air. Killer Turtle remained defensive, circling around the blue hazard waiting for an opening to attack, but Utopia struck again, clipping Killer Turtle's wedge and jamming it in the upright position. Killer Turtle continued to circle Utopia, now without its wedge, and Utopia caught it again, knocking the wedge back into position. The circling continued, with Utopia once again getting the upper hand and flipping Killer Turtle. Killer Turtle retreated, with Utopia continuing to take nibbles at it, its drum starting to sound more coarse than normal. A huge hit sent Killer Turtle across the box and back onto its wheels, but its wedge had been completely bent and now was not ground scraping. Killer Turtle continued to drive defensively, with Utopia refusing to give it any opening to attack. After a few more hits from Utopia, Killer Turtle was flipped on its back and seemed to be struggling to drive. Utopia took another hit, and Killer Turtle continued to limp aimlessly around the box, with Utopia spinning down its weapon and pushing Killer Turtle around and into the hazards. Utopia then got a long shove on Killer Turtle into the red corner. Utopia continued to push the battered Killer Turtle around for the remainder of the match until time ran out. Unsurprisingly, the judge's decision went to Utopia, who became the beetleweight champion.
For this event, the beetleweight division was a two-versus-two "gladiator" style competition.
In the first round, Utopia was teamed up with fellow drum spinner Scary Thing against the clamp of Final Boss and beater bar of Wilson. As the fight began Final Boss raced out of its starting square and rushed head on into Scary Thing in under two seconds, as the three drum spinners revved their weapons up to full speed. Wilson followed and went after Utopia, smacking Utopia away as Scary Thing and Final Boss began to brawl. Scary Thing managed to get around the side of Final Boss, grinding away at its side. Utopia returned to the melee, attacking the side of Wilson who began to noticeably slow down. A massive hit sent Final Boss in a 360 through the air, and landed without its top plate, completely immobilized. Utopia continued to attack Wilson, eventually shearing one of the cotter pins that secured the weapon shaft, and after a few more slices Wilson's weapon shaft began to slide out of the robot. Utopia pursued, continuing to pop and throw Wilson around as Wilson struggled to get its bearings. Eventually the shaft had slid out far enough that Wilson's weapon became jammed up. Utopia backed away to allow Scary Thing to commence its attack as Wilson charged head-on into Scary Thing's weapon. The impact threw Wilson into the ceiling, whereupon Wilson landed on its nose, immobile as it had no weapon to knock itself back down. Being a good sport, Scary Thing knocked Wilson back down so the fight could continue. Wilson's weapon completely fell off in the process. Scary Thing backed off as Wilson struggled to regain its bearings, and Utopia cruised in and landed another hit, throwing Wilson up against the wall where it became pinned. Utopia was less forgiving, leaving Wilson to be counted out by the judges, leaving Scary Thing and Utopia as the winners. As both team members had survived, Utopia and Scary Thing earned the full two points.
In round two, Utopia joined Final Boss against HyperSchlock and Mega Don G. As the match began Mega Don G charged forward, and it became apparent that HyperSchlock had no drive on its front right wheel. Mega Don G and Utopia began to scuffle with Utopia somehow getting underneath Mega Don G and grinding away at it. This attack seems to have completely knocked out Mega Don G. Meanwhile Final Boss circled around the still somewhat mobile HyperSchlock, who was doing its best to shuffle towards Final Boss and attack. Utopia came in and engaged in a pushing fight with HyperSchlock. This continued for a while, with all three robots taking turns being the aggressor in the pushing fight. After this Utopia's weapon stalled out and stopped. All three robots meandered about as Utopia tried to get its weapon up again. It was successful, and it popped HyperSchlock onto its back. Final Boss then tried to pin HyperSchlock between the wall and the immobile Mega Don G, but HyperSchlock's weapon was able to jiggle the bot loose directly into Utopia, who popped HyperSchlock back onto its wheels and back into the pin, now grinding against the wedge of Mega Don G, which eventually ripped it clean off. This seemed to invigorate HyperSchlock, which promptly went face-first with Final Boss and slammed it into the opposite wall. Utopia counterattacked, flinging it up off the wall. This final hit seemed to cause more drivetrain problems for HyperSchlock as it was showing difficulty moving at all. Utopia came around the rear and began to grind with its drum, as Final Boss began to ram into HyperSchlock, which seemed to be completely immobilized. Final Boss moved to the arena center and began doing a victory spin as HyperSchlock was counted out, giving Utopia and Final Boss the win. As both robots had survived the match, Utopia earned the full two points.
In the third round, Utopia was teamed up with Wilson against HyperSchlock and SlamWOW!. Wilson was unable to be repaired in time for this fight, so Utopia's partner was replaced with a large metal block. From the beginning it was clear that SlamWOW! had no drive on the right side, so the fight became between HyperSchlock and Utopia, who danced around one another. HyperSchlock got around the side of Utopia initially as SlamWOW! tried to gyrodance into a position to attack Utopia. HyperSchlock seemed to lose power briefly, which was enough for Utopia to swoop around and rip one half of HyperSchlock's wheels off completely. Utopia then went after SlamWOW! which was unable to gyrodance away from its weapon, ripping its left side wheel off before moving in and ripping one more wheel off of HyperSchlock. After one more big hit to HyperSchlock's rear, both robots were dead, giving Utopia the win with a double knockout. As it had entered the fight without a teammate, Utopia earned an automatic one point bonus in addition to its one point for winning.
In the final round, Utopia teamed up with HyperSchlock to face off with Wilson and Mega Don G. HyperSchlock was unable to be repaired in time and forfeit, leaving the fight as a two-on-one with Utopia's partner being replaced with a metal block. As the fight began Mega Don G took the front position, going head-on with Utopia's drum using its wedge as Wilson hung back, waiting for an opportunity to attack Utopia. After a bit, Wilson swung around the side and landed some grazing hits on Utopia, who backed away and circled, landing a slice against Wilson before going after the side of Mega Don G, smashing it into the air twice and knocking one of its wedge arms loose from its mount. After this, Wilson's weapon stopped working after it drove over Utopia's "teammate". Utopia then turned and went after Wilson, who was unable to keep pace with the faster Utopia, who continued to alternate between striking at Mega Don G and Wilson, who were both unable to do much to Utopia. Eventually Wilson was pushed near the open pushout, and began to pour copious amounts of smoke as Utopia ripped Mega Don G's wedge off entirely before taking it into the opposite wall and grinding at its underside. It became clear that Wilson's battery had caught fire, so the fight was paused to extract Wilson from the box. After the fight resumed it was clear that Mega Don G was completely immobilized, giving Utopia the win by double knockout. As it had entered the fight without a teammate, Utopia earned an automatic one point bonus in addition to its one point for winning.
With a perfect eight points (double that of the runner-up), Utopia became the beetleweight gladiator champion.
Utopia first fought rookie beater-bar spinner EXERCISE RESTRAINT. As the fight began both robots revved their weapons up to maximum speed, and Utopia approached quickly, but EXERCISE RESTRAINT didn't move as its weapon was drawing too much current for the robot to be able to move. Utopia attacked and ripped a wheel off, and EXERCISE RESTRAINT throttled down its weapon, trying to crabwalk and attack Utopia. After a few glancing blows from both robots, it was clear EXERCISE RESTRAINT was done, and tapped out, giving the win to Utopia.
Utopia's next opponent was verteran horizontal bar spinner LowBlow. Utopia won this fight and advanced.
Utopia then faced rookie drum spinner Reckoning, which was heavily inspired by Utopia. In a shocking upset, Reckoning won by knockout, dropping Utopia into the loser's bracket.
Utopia then fought Ontario beater bar spinner InsaniTi. Utopia won this fight and advanced.
Utopia was next matched against beater bar spinner Wilson. Utopia won this fight and advanced.
Now in the loser's bracket finals, Utopia faced Californian liter/grabber Unknown Avenger. Unknown Avenger won this fight, leaving Utopia as the third-place finisher.
