TheGap

The Gap was Team Run Amok's second entry into Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors, which competed in the second season under their sister team, Team Creative Steel. It reached the second round of its heat, before losing to Propeller-Head after driving itself into the pit.

The robot's name was inspired by the "mind the gap" signs and announcements on the London Underground, with its logo also designed to resemble the London Underground logo.

Team Run Amok's Season 1 entry Run Away was also entered into Extreme Warriors: Season 2, also reached the second round. The two robots were due to compete alongside each other in the Nickelodeon Robot Wars US vs UK Tag Team Terror competition, but The Gap had to be replaced by the loanerbot Zanzara after suffering gearbox damage which could not be repaired in time.

Robot History Edit

In its first round battle, The Gap faced Trackzilla and Season 1 runners-up The Revolutionist. It immediately flipped Trackzilla over using its lifter, and along with Sergeant Bash tried to push it onto the Flame Pit. However, it became immobilized on one side after The Revolutionist slammed into it, the impact also disabling the latter's weapon. Even so, The Gap progressed to the second round along with The Revolutionist, as Trackzilla was counted out, attacked by Sergeant Bash and launched by the Floor Flipper.

There, The Gap faced Propeller-Head, withstanding Propeller-Head's initial blows before attempting to lift it, but missing. After a few more blows from Propeller-Head, The Gap appeared to lose speed and mobility, but took advantage of Propeller-Head powering down its spinning weapon by attempting to lift it again, then catching it with its lifter as Propeller-Head backed from the Floor Spinner activation button. However, Propeller-Head escaped using its spinning blade, and pressed the pit release button, with The Gap driving straight into the pit as it descended. This eliminated The Gap from the US Championship.
