SMD (Also known as Something Must Die) was a middleweight competitor from the US Air Force Academy which competed in Season 3.0 of BattleBots. It was a pentagonal robot armed with a chainsaw-driven disc. It didn't perform well in competition, winning only one fight. However, it appeared on television in an exhibition match with several other student robots against Jay Leno's Chinkilla.
SMD was one of two robots built by students from the US Air Force Academy, the other being Mordicus.

SMD's first opponent was Caliban. SMD won by KO at 1:47 and got to move up to the next round, where it would fight Horrifica.
