My Memories of the Robot Wars Live Event in Birmingham 2nd August 2001
First of all, I wish to thank all the other wiki users for their research into the Robot Wars 2001 Live Event Tour as their findings have helped me to recall the majority of my memories from attending the Birmingham leg of the Series 5 Qualifiers. I went with my father to what I think must have been the evening event. I am guessing in hindsight there must have been events earlier on in the day as well as the day before because how else could Kan-Opener have fought as many as 5 robots during the entirety of the event as the team's archived website claims?
I say this because I did see Kan-Opener fight at this event but only once, against 8645T. My account of the battle is pretty much the same as is already documented on this wiki, except Kan-…
MASSIVE REFORMAT idea + Impracticalities of this wiki
It feels like some Robot Combat wiki editors have this sentiment about URA wiki but doesn't want to take the initiative to share why this wiki is impractical and how it should be done.
This is a colossal task for only a few dedicated editors on this wiki. Why would people go to URA wiki for Robot Wars or Battlebots information when they can go to their own respective wikis? Some bots here may not even compete in any other competition besides the premier ones you see on TV. URA wiki could be short and sweet but still have details. The amount of categories is already becoming quite staggering and we don't even have a mass category edit bot to do them all. Right now, we all know this is a land of haphazard copy and pasting without structure.

Event Report: MakerBattle, October 2, Hartford, CT
So here I am. I’ve been a BattleBots fan for a long time, built a robot called OOF that could never compete, and here I am, making a new bot of a different weight class just so I could compete once. People on r/BattleBots have said mean things about my boi Free Hugs. But here, I can prove I’m not the idiot they think I am. We’re one of the first teams to arrive. Team Spirit arrives before us, and Combat Bot in Arena (yes that’s the name they gave it) are there already because it’s owned by the people who run the event. Builders slowly spill in as I adjust to the small pit area we have. I see PGF with Theo Hummel. I said hi to him and he seemed happy to meet me. We had a nice chat as ER-Stingray and Mondo Bizarro arrive. After Frostbite arr…
The Incredible world of Russian Fighting Robots
Fans of Robot Combat can easily point out the major countries where the sport of professional robot combat is located.
The big 3 that are most commonly discussed are the United States, Great Britain and China. This of course being the locations of Battlebots, Robot Wars and King of Bots respectively.
However, one country is often overlooked, and that is Russia.
In June of 2015 the entire robot fighting community was blown aback when ABC aired the first episode of the Battlebots Reboot. Almost instantly, a new generation of fans emerged.
Following the Battlebots reboot we saw the return of Robot Wars. And in early September of 2015. Serveral former Russian politicians came together and with a small sum of money, the very first BroneBots; Ris…
Cheeky Robot Names
So throughout the years there have been many somewhat cheeky names for combat robots, and robots in general. I hope to list them all, sit down and have a laugh.
The State of Robot Combat Worldwide
- 1 Africa
- 1.1 Benin
- 1.2 Egypt
- 1.3 Ethiopia
- 1.4 Gambia
While incredibly active in FIRST there is no active Robot Combat scene in Benin.
Status: Non-Existant
As the second largest economy in Africa, even surpassing South Africa which has Robot Combat history you would expect Egypt to have the right climate for Robot Combat, however only one robot (COPRA) has ever emerged from the country, and it never even competed.
Egypt's scene is dormant, possibly extinct.
While incredibly active in Robotic Football there is no active Robot Combat scene in Ethiopia.
Status: Non-Existant
Not much is known about Gambia's Robot Combat scene other than that it is school based. It's existence was first known in the west in 2017 after some Gambian Roboteers had issues getting V…

Rant: New Fandom Layout
What the hell did those bloody idiots up at Fandom HQ smoke when they thought that the new navigation, and UI layout was a good idea? Bloody idiots are dumber than Kim Kardashian, and any Darwin Award winner combined. It is a mess, and honestly makes navigating a pain in the arse.
IF SOMETHING AINT BROKE DON'T BLOODY FIX IT BAKA
Good job you screwed up a perfectly well designed, well oiled website, screwing up not only this wiki, but many larger ones as well. up yours, rant over, have a damn dunce cap.
