Combat Robot Hall of Famer

Carbide is simply put the most feared machine in the UK. People are scared of it. - Dave Moulds

This robot is in the Combat Robot Hall of Fame! It's considered one of the best combat robots in the entire world!

Overview[]

Bite Force was a heavyweight robot which competed in the first four seasons of the BattleBots reboot. Initially a tracked grappling/lifting robot, it later transitioned into being a powerful wheeled vertical spinner. Bite Force is often quoted as the most successful BattleBots competitor of all time, with only one loss spanning a 4 year career, and only ever having a match go the distance 6 times.

Team/Robot History[]

Bite Force was built by Team APTYX Designs, captained by BattleBots veteran Paul Ventimigilia. Previously, Paul had built the lightweight robot Tantrum for the show's original run, which only fought one fight, and lost. Paul also built the champion of the 2009 Battlebots tournament, Brutality (which would later become Perfect Phoenix). Brutality had previously beaten such legendary teams such as Mutant Robotics' Root Canal, Robotic Death Company's Megabyte, and was a contributing factor in forcing the legendary BioHazard into retirement.

Bite Force's first ever season saw it go completely undefeated through 5 fights and win the first Giant Nut of the reboot. Warhead, Hypershock, Overhaul and Ghost Raptor were all felled by Bite Force before a somewhat fluke match against a malfunctioning Tombstone resulted Bite Force's win.

Season 2 would go on to be Bite Force's least successful season on record, with a still respectable 3-1 performance (including exhibitions). Ringmaster and Mohawk were the first to fall, but an infamous meeting with Chomp resulted in Bite Force's only ever career loss, through a controversial judges decision. However it bounced back with a respectable win over Wrecks and Witch Doctor in a rumble.

Season 3 of the reboot was the advent of the Fight Night format, and this allowed Bite Force to perform amazingly once again. Bite Force was one half of the season's first match against Blacksmith, and 3 subsequent efficient knockouts against Hypershock, Bombshell and End Game propelled Bite Force into the Round of 16 with a #3 seed. It started a very tense win over HUGE due to it falling apart, eviscerations against Rotator and Whiplash, and then a slugfest win against Minotaur for the second ever Giant Nut for Bite Force.

Season 4 is currently the final main season that Bite Force has ever competed in, and it performed just as amicably as the previous season. A brawl against Yeti opened up Bite Force's season, with a statement win over Bronco propelling it to 2-0. A 3rd rematch against Hypershock saw what many claim to be Bite Force's closest match on record as the neon demon managed to outdrive the champ many a time. Its final match of the fight night was a quick disposal of Monsoon. It entered the Round of 16 as the #1 seed, and it began a streak of wins by sticking Uppercut on its face (although not without damage in the process), a slow disassembly of Lock-Jaw, a shock one-hit KO over Tombstone and a very last minute win against Witch Doctor which gave Bite Force its third championship.

Chronologically, Bite Force's most recent appearance was in the live RE:Mars event in Las Vegas where it faced fellow S1 veteran ICEwave, and subsequently dismantled it methodically before facing a rematch with Whiplash in the second round which ended up with tires getting stick in the rafters of the BattleBox.

Bite Force BBSeason4 2019

Bite Force as it appeared for the 2019 season of BattleBots.

Bite Force's first ever outing into BattleBots saw it enter as a unique form of lifter/grappler robot. This season Bite Force used tracks with embedded magnets that kept it glued to the floor even while lifting other robots at awkward angles. The lifting weapon came with two setups, the setup in the team's official photo was the grappling configuration. Equipped with a top jaw, two smaller bottom prongs and and an early form of wedgelet mounted on the track pods. This setup was used in an effort to grab a hold of other robots, hoist them into the air and carry them around the box, which proved to be effective in Bite Force's matches against Overhaul and Ghost Raptor. The robot's second configuration was more of a "heavy" suit of armor as it sacrificed the top jaw for a back wedge paired with the two bottom prongs. Despite the sacrifice of the top jaw this setup still proved to be effective in lifting, even managing a suplex on Warhead.

Bite Force

Bite Force as it appeared for the 2016 season of BattleBots.

Returning for World Championship II, Bite Force no longer had the lifter from which its name stemmed, and instead applied with a brand new vertical spinner in compliance with the new judging rules. It also sacrificed the treads for wheels, giving the robot a much needed aspect of speed that it lacked in S1. in order to feed robots into the weapon, Bite Force also sported 4 brand new wedgelets, however these proved suspect from falling off from even glancing blows. It also sported a full wedge as well as a unique separated wedge that was only used in its exhibition match against Wrecks and Witch Doctor.

For World Championship III Bite Force entered with only minor changes to its exterior design, including a new chain guard to safeguard against chance weapon shots which ended its run in the previous season, and different wedgelet mounts that offered a more secure connection. On the inside however, Bite Force had received several upgrades, the most notable of which was several magmotors powering the weapon which offered it some intense power, even enough to throw robots like Bombshell out of the arena.

Bite Force returned virtually unchanged for World Championship IV with the exception of a fresh paintjob and increased "knockout power" in the weapon, which was shown on full display against robots like Tombstone and Bronco.

Competition History[]

BattleBots World Championship I[]

BiteForcevsWarhead BB2015

Bite Force hoists Warhead.

Bite Force's first BattleBots match came against Warhead, from the legendary Team Razer. In preparation for the fight, Bite Force swapped out its upper clamping jaw for a heavy steel plow to provide defense against its opponent's spinning disc.

The fight began with Bite Force charging across the box, quickly getting to the side of Warhead and pushing it around the arena. After a few glancing blows from Warhead's dome spinner, Bite Force shoved the British machine into the rails, pinning it for several seconds before forcing it up onto the screws. Warhead escaped, working to get its disc up to speed, but Bite Force met it head on with a ram attack that popped Warhead up into the air. It continued to shove the older robot around, throwing it into the screw mount in a big collision. This seemed to permanently slow the spinning dome of Warhead, who was unable to get its weapon working afterwards.

"This is art against practicality and right now, practicality is winning."
Kenny Florian's assessment of the fight's opening minute.

Bite Force paraded its crippled opponent around the arena, using its superior drive train to bully the veteran robot across the box. In a clear demonstration of just how well it was dominating the fight, Bite Force pushed Warhead under the pulverizer, delivering several shots with the hazard before forcing it all the way across the box to another pulverizer to continue pounding away at the British robot. Seeing that his opponent's weapon had been well and truly disabled, and wasn't just turned off to avoid injury, Paul Ventimiglia turned his robot around, now leading with the lifting forks to try to tip Warhead over. Despite one of its treads seemingly locking up, Bite Force was able to hook its arms underneath Warhead's dome, dragging the former quarter-finalist around by its chin and eventually throwing it over in a suplex maneuver. Though Warhead remained upright and was able to make it to the bell, it could not muster any resistance, and the judges unanimously voted for Bite Force, giving Team Aptyx Designs their first win in the reboot.

Result: Bite Force by Judge's Decision (Unanimous)

BiteForcevsHyperShock BB2015

Bite Force shoves Hypershock into the screws.

Bite Force's dominant win over Warhead allowed it to advance to the Round of 16 as the No.3 seed, where it faced Will Bales and HyperShock.

Once again, Paul opted to attach a heavy steel wedge to his robot in place of the upper jaws, though the black plow used in this fight was different from the blue one debuted against Warhead. When the fight began, both robots maneuvered towards the center, with Bite Force getting underneath its opponent in the first exchange. HyperShock attempted to escape, its weapon not yet spinning, but Bite Force continued to catch it from the sides and front, pushing the Floridian robot around the box. Finally, one of HyperShock's claws got underneath Bite Force's plow, allowing driver Will Bales to push the grappler bot under the pulverizer.

"HAMMER! HAMMER! HAMMER! HAMMER! HAMMER!"
— Will Bales instructs his team to operate the pulverizer.

Bite Force sustained several blows from the arena hammer before escaping, scooping up its opponent and maneuvering back to the center of the arena. However, as HyperShock escaped its grasp once again, its drum began to spin, finally functional after over thirty seconds of inactivity. Both robots jockeyed for position, but it was HyperShock who scored the next blow of the match, landing a hit with its spinning weapon that flipped Bite Force over, though this also caused the drum to once again go still. As Bite Force struggled to right itself, the armored plow interfering, HyperShock shoved it towards the screws.

"This is not what I expected from a 3 [vs.] 14 matchup. The underdog is taking it to Bite Force."
Chris Rose heaps praise on HyperShock for its dominant start to the match.

However, this ultimately proved to be a mistake, as the momentum of the attack allowed Bite Force to escape the dangerous situation. With one of HyperShock's lifting arms stuck up in the air, Bite Force then shoved its opponent around and tried to take it to the hazards. Bite Force eventually got HyperShock up onto its plow, bringing down the clamping arms to try to hold it still, but the Floridian spinner wriggled free. Almost as soon as it escaped Bite Force's clutches, however, HyperShock began to smoke, its drive motors overheating from the stress of trying to keep up with Bite Force's powerful drive train. Seizing the upper hand as HyperShock slowed to a crawl, Bite Force shoved its opponent into the red starting square, leaving it immobile near the screws.

"Come on Paul! Paul, flip me Paul!"
— Will Bales' attempt to continue the fight.

In a desperate attempt to avoid a count-out, Will Bales called for Paul to flip his machine over, and though Paul initially tried to oblige, he eventually backed away, allowing the referees to initiate a count-out on the immobile HyperShock.

Despite a surprisingly difficult match, Bite Force was declared the victor by knockout and advanced to the quarter-finals.

Result: Bite Force by KO (2:41)

BiteForcevsOverhaul BB2015

Bite Force lifts Overhaul.

Next up for Bite Force was a fellow grappler bot in Charles Guan's Overhaul. Going into the match, Bite Force equipped its clamping jaw for the first time, intending to use it to take control of Overhaul and push it into the hazards. When the fight began, both robots were quick to go on the offensive, circling to find any openings they could. Bite Force was able to get under Overhaul in the first few exchanges, but the slippery MIT bot was able to escape before being lifted each time. Bite Force successfully got to the side of its opponent, pushing it across the box, but when it attempted to lift the larger bot it was unable to do so, instead nearly tipping itself over as Overhaul retreated once again. The two clashed near the corner, and Bite Force rammed the other machine into the wall several times before being pushed backwards. The two locked horns again, but this time Bite Force was able to fully get under Overhaul and push it into the wall on its back, attempting to flip it entirely. However, the competitor from MIT was able to avoid being flipped, slipping away from Bite Force once it was given space to breathe. Bite Force once again got underneath Overhaul as the two danced in the center of the box, but its wide footprint proved too much for Paul's robot to get a proper lift on, and instead Bite Force was forced to settle for tipping its foe up in the air to keep it from pushing back. As Overhaul pulled back once more, Bite Force appeared to have brief mobility troubles, but was saved from a possible counterattack when one of the hellraisers popped up, trapping Overhaul's lifting scoop long enough to the WPI grappler to escape. The two machines continued to clash, with Bite Force shoving Overhaul into the rails again, but in the final minute Overhaul began to make up ground.

"In my eyes, Bite Force has a clear advantage up to this point. Just one more minute to make an impression on the judges should this go the distance."
— Chris Rose moments before Overhaul's late comeback.

Ramming Bite Force into the corner, Overhaul was able to get a grip on its foe's side, using its crushing beak to clamp down on Bite Force's track and lift it up in the air. Paul flailed the lifter helplessly as he struggled to escape Overhaul's clutches, but was unable to stop his robot from being rammed against the screws. Bite Force was then dragged across the arena and slammed into the opposite corner, where Overhaul was finally able to flip it over onto its side, pinning it in the corner until time ran out. With such a close battle between two evenly-matched competitors, the judges entered the box to inspect the two robots personally in order to properly score the fight. Both teams waited with baited breath as the judges deliberated, and ultimately all three cast their scores in favor of Bite Force, sending it on to the semi-finals.

Result: Bite Force by Judges Decision (Unanimous)

BiteForcevsGhostRaptor BB2015

Bite Force manages a massive lift on Ghost Raptor.

Bite Force advanced to the semi-finals, where it faced Ghost Raptor. For this clash, Team Aptyx Designs was concerned about their opponent's adaptability, nervous about what unusual tactics the wily veterans would employ against them. This proved to be a well-founded worry, as Team Raptor modified their bot with a small fork attachment which was designed to get in between Bite Force's tracks and rip them off, serving as Ghost Raptor's weapon after the loss of its spinning blade earlier in the season.

"Bite Force is gonna bring it, we're gonna get the jaws underneath Ghost Raptor, clamp down on him, hopefully flip him right out of the arena."
— Paul Ventimiglia outlines his strategy ahead of the match.

The match began with both bots rushing towards the center, Ghost Raptor momentarily caught on a seam in the floor. Bite Force quickly took advantage, grabbing hold of its opponent and bringing it to the corner before hoisting Team Raptor's machine up in the air. Bite Force dashed across the box to bring its opponent under the pulverizer, flipping it over on its back in the process, but Ghost Raptor was able to regain its footing. Bite Force continued to pressure the veteran, however, pushing it back under the arena hammer before chasing it out into the center of the box. Ghost Raptor was able to lift Bite Force's front off the ground briefly, but failed to make effective use of its hold. Bite Force flipped Ghost Raptor over again, causing a wheel to fall out, before pushing its opponent up onto the screws. With no way to escape, Chuck Pitzer could only watch as his robot was counted out, ending his Cinderella run and giving Bite Force the knockout win it needed to advance to the finals.

"Dude, that was awesome!"
— Team Aptyx Designs celebrates their well-earned win.

Result: Bite Force by KO (1:44)

"My message for Ray is, you know I've beat you twice before, I'll do it again... I'm gonna send Tombstone to the grave tonight!"
— Paul shows confidence in his robot ahead of the finals.

Victory over Ghost Raptor earned Bite Force a spot in the championship final, where it faced the feared No.1 seed Tombstone. However, the team was confident in their abilities leading into the match, knowing that Ray Billings' bot wasn't invincible. Bite Force once again donned a heavy black wedge to help deflect its opponent's spinner, though this one was notably wider than the one used against HyperShock in order to protect the sides more effectively. As the box lights dimmed before the match, Paul and Ray briefly discussed the direction in which Tombstone's weapon would spin, a factor which would affect both teams' strategies for the fight. When the buzzer sounded, Bite Force charged across the arena, desperate to keep Tombstone's weapon from reaching full speed. Tombstone slipped away, delivering a few glancing blows to Bite Force's front wedge before rebounding into the corner. Tombstone landed a light hit to Bite Force's lifting arms but was unable to stop itself from being scooped up and pinned against the rails. Bite Force waited patiently once it had the fearsome spinner bot in its grasp, making effective use of the 10 second pin limit to help buy time. Eventually, it had to release, setting Tombstone free before chasing it down again. Bite Force suffered a large shot to its wedge while attempting to catch Hardcore Robotics' machine again, then narrowly avoided disaster as Tombstone's blade scraped underneath the right side treads. Fortunately, Bite Force remained mobile, slamming itself against its opponent's bar spinner several more times in an attempt to limit its damage potential. As Bite Force boxed Tombstone into the corner, a few plumes of smoke rose from within the number 1 seed, but it quickly escaped the dangerous situation and continued trying to spin up. The next collision, however, proved to be the most impactful, stopping Tombstone's weapon and causing much more noticeable smoke to pour out of it as its LiPo batteries began to go up in flames.

"Oh, batteries. That's batteries."
Ray Billings identifying the problem within his robot as it belches white smoke.

Despite the fire raging inside, Tombstone's blade continued to function, struggling to get up to speed as Bite Force chased it around the arena. Around this point, Bite Force began to exhibit drive issues, occasionally struggling to get both tracks moving at the same time, but was still able to scoop up the floundering Tombstone and carry it to the screws. However, the spinner bot was able to escape before being chewed up, doing its best to create distance. With only thirty seconds left on the clock, Bite Force's mobility continued to worsen, the damage throughout the match taking its toll as Tombstone charged back in to try to push it onto the screws. Bite Force was able to bring its lifting forks into play, grappling with its opponent before making one last push across the box, shoving Tombstone towards the center in a final display of mobility before the clock hit zero and the fight went to the judges. After careful consideration of the fight, the judges ultimately scored the match unanimously in favor of Bite Force, crowning Team Aptyx Designs as the first champions of the BattleBots reboot.

Result: Bite Force by Judges Decision (Unanimous)

BattleBots World Championship II[]

BiteForcevsMohawk BB2016

Bite Force attacks Mohawk's rear.

Bite Force's first match of the 2016 season was against Mohawk. Before the battle, Bite Force added rubber wedges to help get underneath Mohawk. In the match, the initial collision caused all six of the feet to come off, leaving Bite Force to grind away entirely with the bar. Bite Force kept on hitting the rear and sides of Mohawk with its spinning bar and at one point, it ripped off one of Mohawk's side panels. As this was happening, Mohawk's sealed gasket, which was covering its crushing arm, was causing propane to congregate inside the bot. This ignited and Mohawk stopped moving entirely. The match was paused to ensure Mohawk wasn't stuck under the arena barrier. When the match resumed, it was clear Mohawk couldn't move. Mohawk was being counted out around the driver's booth and Bite Force won the match by KO at 1:36. This win put Bite Force to the Round of 32 with its No.4 seeding. Result: Bite Force by KO (1:36)

BB2016BiteForceHitRingmaster

Bite Force tosses The Ringmaster into the corner.

Next up for Paul Ventimiglia and Bite Force was No.29 seed, The Ringmaster. Bite Force as it was able to toss The Ringmaster over several times with its spinning bar early on, and started on the front foot. However, Bite Force's weapon eventually stopped working and a pushing match began between the two bots. Nevertheless, Bite Force was more effective with its wedge and continued to control the fight. Time ran out and Bite Force won a unanimous 3-0 judges' decision, putting it to the Round of 16.

Result: Bite Force by Judges Decision (Unanimous)

ChompvsBiteForce BB2016

Chomp slams its hammer into Bite Force.

In this match, Bite Force faced the No.13 seed, Chomp. Early on, Chomp hit Bite Force's weapon drive chain, disabling Bite Force's weapon right from the get-go. Bite Force started to control the fight and pushed Chomp around before getting caught on its own weapon drive chain halfway through the match. Chomp took advantage by occasionally spraying it with fire, pushing it into the killsaws and attacking with its hammer. Time ran out and despite Bite Force's control for much of the match, the judges awarded Chomp the victory, ending Bite Force's reign as champion and eliminating it from the competition.

Result: Chomp by Judges Decision (Unanimous)

Bite Force Witch Doctor Wrecks

Bite Force and Witch Doctor clash.

Bite Force returned to compete in a three-way rumble against Wrecks and Witch Doctor. Bite Force and Witch Doctor decided to leave Wrecks alone and fight each other. After Wrecks got moving, Bite Force landed some hits on Witch Doctor, once managing to kick Witch Doctor into the disc of Wrecks, tearing off the left ram plate. After some maneuvering, Bite force started attacking Wrecks from behind and, with the help of Witch Doctor, sends Wrecks into the screws. After some maneuvering, Bite Force kicked Witch Doctor into the air, putting the latter in between the two spinners. The two bots started attacking Witch Doctor, with Wrecks tearing off the self-righter and left front tire and Bite Force tearing off the rest of the rim. Soon after, Bite force struck the left front of Witch Doctor, kicking it upside-down into the path of Wrecks' disc, which punts Witch Doctor out of the arena. Soon after, Bite Force struck Wrecks from the side, and and a head-to-head collision kicked both bots upside down. Bite decided to use the arena barrier to right itself, though it took multiple attempts to be successful. After taking out Shaman, Bite Force turned to hit Wrecks multiple times, causing smoke to pour out of Wrecks. Bite Force hit Wrecks once more and nearly got it out of the arena, but Wrecks managed to get back in. However, it was too late as Wrecks was counted out, giving Bite Force the victory by knockout.

Result: Bite Force by KO (2:12)

BattleBots World Championship III[]

BiteforcevsBlacksmith bb2018

Bite Force uppercuts Blacksmith.Bite

Bite Force's first match in Season 3 was an undercard match against Blacksmith. Bite Force came over the Blacksmith quickly, although didn't achieve much as Blacksmith had two front forks to counter Bite Force's front wedgelets. However, Bite Force ripped open a hole in the side of Blacksmith, albeit not too large, and Blacksmith countered by landing two shots with the hammer's flamethrower full blast to the top of Bite Force, but Bite Force was able to flip Blacksmith over with the bar. Bite Force continued to attack the side of Blacksmith. However, Blacksmith then fired his hammer onto the spinner of Bite Force, which resulted in the fuel line of Blacksmith snapping, however Blacksmith's hammer head was now wedged in the area between Bite Force's bar and motor. After Blacksmith retracted the hammer from Bite Force, Blacksmith landed multiple shots to the top of Bite Force, while Bite Force landed one last shot with its weapon before the bar stopped spinning for good. Blacksmith, after taking a shot from the killsaws, was forced into the screws by Bite Force for the final seconds of the fight. Bite Force won the judges decision, giving it the first win of the whole season. Result: Bite Force by Judges Decision (Unanimous)

BiteForcekillsHyperShock bb2018

Bite Force rips out Hypershock's internals.

Bite Force's next opponent was HyperShock, a rematch from Season 1 of the reboot. When the match began, both bots charged out at each other with Hypershock trying to get around to Bite Force's sides. Bite Force hit Hypershock hard and flipped it over. Before Hypershock could even try to self-right or move upside down, Bite Force came in for a second attack, this time ripping off the top panel and sending various internal components of Hypershock flying. With Hypershock still unable to move it was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO. Result: Bite Force by KO (0:36)

BiteForce flip EndGame

Bite Force flips End Game.

Next up for Bite Force was rookie End Game. The match started out well for Bite Force as they managed to get the first big hit that sent End Game flying. However, on the second impact, Bite Force stopped moving and its opponent decided not to strike again. Luckily, Bite Force got going again and landed another two hits, the later of which flipped End Game. End Game's weapon had stopped working so it was unable to self-right and was counted out, allowing Bite Force to improve its record.

Result: Bite Force by KO (1:02)

BiteForcetossesBombshellOOTA bb2018

Bite Force throws Bombshell out of the arena.

The next match up for Bite Force was the 2016 runner-up Bombshell. In response, Bite Force had some of its internals swapped out in hopes of further improving its performance. When the match began, the first hit from Bite Force flipped Bombshell over. Bombshell was still mobile, but couldn't really drive anywhere and was near the arena barrier. Bite Force took advantage by hitting it again. With Bombshell still unable to attack in response, Bite Force struck it a final time, throwing Bombshell straight out of the arena, where it couldn't get out. Bombshell was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by a quick KO.

Result: Bite Force by OOTA KO (0:47)

Because Bite Force went 4-0, it was able to make the top 16 as the 3rd seed again, where it faced the 14th seed, HUGE. The match started poorly for Bite Force as it was unable to get to HUGE's wheels and kept taking shots, eventually losing its weapon chain, and with it, power to its weapon. Bite Force began pushing HUGE around the arena when HUGE suddenly split in two (possibly due to damage from HUGE's previous fight against ICEwave) and was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO to advance to the quarterfinals and faced 11th seed, Rotator.

Result: Bite Force by KO (1:37)

When the match began, Bite Force was able to dish out a big hit that launched Rotator into the air. However, Bite Force soon started to lose parts of its armor with each of its attacks. The table soon turned though as Bite Force got a hit on Rotator that tore off one of its armor panels. Rotator's weapons continued to spin, but even they stopped working partway through. Rotator eventually stopped moving and was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO to advance to the semifinals, where it faced 10th seed, Whiplash.

Result: Bite Force by KO (1:19)

BiteForcevWhiplash2 bb2018

Bite Force gets underneath Whiplash.

Bite Force went into the fight relatively unchanged from its previous match. The match was off to a good start for Bite Force as they had the lower wedge and threw Whiplash into the air. After a few more hits, Bite Force managed to damage the right front wheel of Whiplash, but this didn't cause much damage. As the match progressed, Bite Force tore off both right tires, leaving Whiplash to drive in circles. Eventually, Bite Force's attacks took its toll on Whiplash and they stopped moving. Whiplash was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO, advancing it to the championship finals, where it faced Minotaur.

Result: Bite Force by KO (1:29)

BiteForcevMinotaur1 bb2018

Bite Force and Minotaur collide.

Bite Force did not have a good start to this match as they lost the furthest right wedgelet almost immediately and were tossed into the air shortly thereafter. However, Bite Force started to get the upper hand as they were now causing damage to Minotaur, tearing off the left side rail. This damage caused Minotaur to lose power in their weapon as the belts powering it had come loose. Bite Force powered down its weapon as its driver suspected that the motor wasn't giving enough power to the weapon. This resulted in a pushing match, but Bite Force was seemingly being outmatched as they were pushed across the arena by Minotaur. After a short while, Bite Force powered its weapon back up and was able to finish off Minotaur near the screws. Minotaur was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO and the giant nut trophy for the second time.

Result: Bite Force by KO (2:05)

re:MARS all:STARS BattleBots Challenge (2019)[]

Bite Force was one of 10 robots selected to compete in a live stream event in Las Vegas, Nevada to compete for the Giant Bolt trophy. Its first opponent at this event was ICEwave. For this match, Bite Force opted to use its static wedge for this fight. The match got underway and Bite Force managed to cause sparks. However, ICEwave was getting the upper hand a bit and Bite Force was shoved around. Luckily, Bite Force got back on track and started to tear into ICEwave, ripping of pieces of the wedge and the tips of the spinning blade. Eventually, Bite Force had ripped off both ends of ICEwave's blade and much of its wedge, leaving ICEwave pretty much defenseless. However, the chain on Bite Force's weapon came off, resulting in mostly a pushing match but this still favored Bite Force. Bite Force continued to push Icewave around, even getting it briefly stuck near the pulverizer. ICEwave then stopped moving not long after and was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO.

Result: Bite Force by KO

Bite Force's next opponent was a rematch with Matt Vasquez and Whiplash, who it destroyed in the semifinals during the 2018 season, to compete for 3rd and 4th place. The match got underway and Bite Force was in control almost from the start as they started to damage the left front scoop on Whiplash. Bite Force then tossed it into the air and left that same scoop on Whiplash even more likely to come off. Bite Force then took off the left rear tire, leaving Whiplash with little offense due to the now slanted nature of its driving ability. Bite Force then tore off Whiplash's left scoop, leaving Whiplash with little options other than to try and use the lifting arm's spinner to cause damage. Bite Force refused to let up, tearing off more parts as both robots battled near the pulverizer. Whiplash continued to fight but its mobility was now severely limited as two tires were missing. Bite Force finished off Whiplash near the screws and Whiplash was counted out, giving Bite Force its 2nd win of the event. Despite this win, Bite Force was not chosen to compete in the championship battle and thus was eliminated from the event.

Result: Bite Force by KO

BattleBots World Championship IV[]

Yeti vs Bite Force

Bite Force and Yeti get stuck together.

Bite Force started its next run towards defending its title with a match against Greg Gibson and Yeti. When the match began, Bite Force found itself struggling against Yeti's power at first before throwing it into the air. Yeti continued to fight, so Bite Force struck it again, taking out the chain for Yeti's lifting forks. This left Yeti with no control for using the forks. Unfortunately, this had a drawback for Bite Force as well because one of the forks got caught in its armor, leading to a pushing match. Luckily, both managed to separate and Bite Force delivered another hit that damaged Yeti's wheel. Bite Force soon began to have drive issues, but did its best to continue fighting, eventually tossing Yeti over, causing Yeti to land on one of its forks before time ran out. Bite Force won the decision and advanced to 1-0. Result: Bite Force by JD (Unanimous)

Bite Force vs Bronco

Bite Force tears up Bronco's flipper.

Bite Force continued its run to the Giant Nut with a match against former semifinalist Bronco. Bite Force went in relatively unchanged but started off the match rather cautiously as neither robot wanted to make the first mistake. Bite Force then went in and started to cause damage to Bronco, eventually tearing off the tip of Bronco's flipper. Bite Force continued its assault, shoving Bronco around and causing plenty of sparks. With Bronco unable to mount much of an attack, Bite Force pressed on, tearing off one of Bronco's anti-spinner twangers. As the match wore on, Bite Force then tore off Bronco's right rear tire, which limited their mobility somewhat. Bite Force then attacked Bronco, whom was briefly stuck on the floor, and pushed them into the arena barrier near the pulverizer. Smoke began to pour out of Bronco but Bronco was still fighting until Bite Force delivered a final hit. Bronco was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO and advancing to 2-0.

Result: Bite Force by KO (2:48)

Bite Force vs Hypershock

Bite Force tears off Hypershock's wedge.

Bite Force met Will Bales and HyperShock for a third time next and opted to extend the inner two wedgelets to hopefully have more reach and stay low to the ground. As the match got underway, Bite Force was doing well, giving Hypershock problems, especially by flipping it over but eventually Bite Force started to suffer drive problems of its own. Bite Force was still able to drive relatively normally and attacked Hypershock, whose front wedge was now getting close to coming off. Bite Force continued to attack, throwing Hypershock into the air and onto its back once more. Bite Force then tore off Hypershock's front wedge and eventually one of its wheels. Time ran out and Bite Force won the decision and advanced to 3-0.

Result: Bite Force by Judges Decision (Unanimous)

Bite Force vs Monsoon

Bite Force tosses Monsoon.

Bite Force aimed for another victory and was put against Tom Brewster and Monsoon. Bite Force started the match off aggressively by attacking Monsoon and throwing them into the air. Bite Force then struck Monsoon again, causing Monsoon's weapon to strike the arena floor and Monsoon stopped moving after it landed. Monsoon was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO and a flawless 4-0 record.

Result: Bite Force by KO (0:46)

Bite Force remained undefeated and was now placed against newcomer Uppercut in the Round of 16. Bite Force opted for its front wedgelet extensions that were bent and flat in places. Bite Force started off by throwing Uppercut through the air, but was emitting some sparks from inside so it backed off on its weapon for a bit. Uppercut remained mobile however, so Bite Force launched it again, this time sending Uppercut up on its weapon support, which left its drive wheels off the arena floor. Bite Force opted not to right them as they'd already broken the weapon shaft and several welds. Uppercut was unable to move and was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO to advance to the quarterfinals.

Result: Bite Force by KO (0:57)

Bite Force vs lockjaw

Sparks fly as Bite Force collides with Lock-Jaw.

In the quarterfinals, Bite Force encountered Donald Hutson and Lock-Jaw in a rematch from the 2009 Pro Championship. Bite Force opted for its wedgelet configuration with two longer wedgelets in the middle. The match started off relatively evenly but Bite Force soon began to dish out the hits. Bite Force managed to lose one of its wedgelets but kept after Lock-Jaw, throwing them upside down. Lock-Jaw continued to fight, even as it was beginning to smoke and emit sparks from inside, so Bite Force threw them into the air again. Bite Force got Lock-Jaw under the pulverizer where Lock-Jaw struggled to escape but eventually just managed to do so. Bite Force dished out a bit more damage but with around 20-25 seconds left, Lock-Jaw wasn't showing enough movement and was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO and a spot in the semifinals.

Result: Bite Force by KO (2:56)

Tombstone Bite Force

Bite Force shatters Tombstone.

Bite Force's match in the semifinals was a rematch with Tombstone from 2015. Bite Force was equipped with its anti-horizontal spinner wedge instead of the wedgelets and as the match began, was able to knock Tombstone off-balance. Additionally, after the second hit, Tombstone was completely off-balance as it had lost a large portion of its weapon bar and the right wheel from the sheer energy of the hit. Bite Force pushed Tombstone on the screws, but Tombstone escaped and eventually stopped moving. Tombstone was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO and a spot in the finals for the third time.

Result: Bite Force by KO (0:52)

Bite Force vs Witch Doctor

Bite Force flips Witch Doctor for the win.

For this final fight against Witch Doctor, a bot it met and beat in a rumble in 2016. Bite Force was once again equipped with its wedgelets, but as the match got underway, started to lose them thanks to Witch Doctor's attacks. Bite Force pressed on and eventually caused Witch Doctor's weapon to stop working. Bite Force then flipped Witch Doctor over and took full advantage by attacking Witch Doctor while they self-righted. Witch Doctor started to have some mobility issues so Bite Force attacked them again, this time sending them upside down against the arena barrier. Witch Doctor couldn't right itself and was counted out, giving Bite Force the win by KO and a third Giant Nut.

Result: Bite Force by KO (1:56)
